Spring '25 Runway Collections: Inspiring Print Trends

Updated: Mar 21

As a print designer, I always look forward to seeing the ready-to-wear collections hit the runways. Not only do they provide great insights into upcoming print trends, but they also offer me a fresh dose of inspiration for my own work. In this post, I’ve highlighted a few of my personal favourites from the recent Spring '25 womenswear collections.

First up, one of my absolute favourite designers, Ulla Johnson. Her collections always include a heavy dose of exciting print and colour direction and her latest did not disappoint. Featuring artwork by the late Lee Krasner, an American abstract expressionist artist, the combination of abstract painterly shapes with gestural brushstrokes and mark-making give these garments a real sense of life and movement. I also love the colours in this collection; the tones of bright fuchsia and magenta paired with rich greens and zingy pastels make for the perfect spring palette. Next up is another designer who's not afraid of using print - Dries Van Noten.

I particularly love their use of nature-inspired prints and dazzling jewel tones in this offering for spring. Transforming the beautiful details of orchid flowers into abstract, animal-like spots and playing around with various scales and unusual colourways, gives this collection a really unique feel. The warm toned snakeskin print is a really nice addition too, adding an extra layer of richness. Take a look at the full Dries Van Noten Spring/Summer 2025 collection here.

And finally, the gloriously feminine and cool collection by French designer, Isabel Marant. Blending decorative butterfly wing details with blurry ikats, as well as her signature bohemian style, including woven Navajo patterns inspired by her travels, there is so much to love about these clothes. The soft and warm colour palette is gorgeous too, reminding me of the glowing hues of a sunset. Watch the whole Isabel Marant Spring/Summer 2025 show here.
