Print Trend: Animal Prints Unleashed!

As some of my favourite designs to create, I'm excited to see that animal prints are set to be a strong trend for 2025. Let's be clear, leopard print and other 'skins' never truly go out of style but I've definitely noticed the recent revival, with designers and fashion brands reinventing the classics for fresh and new takes on animal print.
I recently took to the high-streets of London, something I love to do whenever I have the time. It's just over an hour by train from my home in Brighton, and it's always worth the journey to see what brands and designers are doing print-wise and to gather inspiration for my own designs. Research is a essential part of being a fashion print designer, and while we're lucky to have so many great online trend resources like Patternbank.com and Vogue.com, nothing compares to experiencing prints and clothing firsthand. The other benefit is that you get to see how prints are merchandised in stores, helping to clarify themes, colour palettes and how brands envision their prints being worn.
From more traditional leopard prints to striking cheetah spots, textural snakeskins to bold tiger and zebra stripes; animal prints are everywhere right now! The colour palettes vary from classic caramel and brown combos, soft grey monochromes and more colourful takes incorporating bright yellow from AllSaints and Whistles.
Animal prints have also featured heavily in the recent Resort 2025 collections with designers like Zimmerman, Ganni and Valentino opting for gorgeous leopard spots in rich browns and warm caramels, Givenchy and Isabel Marant featuring their takes on slinky snakeskin and Roberto Cavalli going bold with monochromatic zebra stripes.
Animal prints are bold, fun and a great way to add personality to your outfits. Smaller scale designs can act as versatile neutrals, effortlessly pairing with your wardrobe staples, while brightly coloured or larger scale prints can really make a statement.
As fashion trends evolve and shift through the seasons, the challenge as a designer lies in creating new and exciting interpretations. Animal prints are a true favourite in fashion, always in demand, but the real joy for me comes from the creativity and imagination it takes to transform timeless patterns into something new and captivating.
